dont you just hate it when you are raring to start a project, you have all of the major parts, but its the tiny stuff that stop you?
parts I have:
2004 GSX-R 1000 Rear shock
2007 GSX-R 1000 front forks w/ brakes, triples, and steering damper
2004 GSx-R 600 front wheel w/ brake rotor
what I need:
ONE spacer for the front axle
8 magnets (might be picking these up today)
ABS ring (need it machined)
2 or 3 brake bolts (striped one taking off a bent rotor, will need to take the other side off too to install ABS ring)
brake lines (on the way)
rotors (on the way)
steering damper mount
HAL sensor
oh, and I need to make mounting brackets for the ABS sneor and speedo sensor
most of these are 1-5$ parts that I just dont have where to pick up from. GAHHHH

Bolts you can find at an ACE or some hardware shop. Spacer and ABS ring might require you to search for a machine shop. Steering damper mount and HAL sensor I have no idea, maybe a dealership or find someone who's parting a similar bike?

Are the brake lines stainless steel?

Or when you finally have all the parts and have made time to do the work and halfway through the job you discover that there's one tool you need that you don't have.

yessir. I figured while I have the entire front half of the bike apart, might as well upgrade these along with it

IT HAPPENS TO EVERYONE, IT WILL HAPPEN TO YOU.

What're you swapping all of this on to? I seem to remember you posting something about an SV-650 not too long ago - will that be the recipient of these parts?

yessir. everyone and their dog does a GSX-R swab on an SV.
but no one i can find has dont it AND kept the ABS. THATS the secondary goal of this project. Main is to get rid of the CRAZY soft front end

Sounds like an very interesting project. I look forward to seeing more.
How do you plan on testing the ABS properly, without dropping the bike in the case of failure? Temporary crash bars? Giant pillows or airbags? Or will you just close your eyes and hope for the best? :)

it has frame sliders lol. Im usued to how the ABS work, and can trigger it easily on dry pavement (wont let the bike stoppie) if I can stoppie, then its not working. (or it has a more loose threashold)
